URW Announces New Leasing Opportunities to Bring More Restaurants to Reimagined LAX Terminal 3

  • Inclusive competitive process lowers the barriers of entry for small and local businesses

In partnership with Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) has announced three new quick-service dining leasing opportunities at LAX Terminal 3. Terminal 3 is currently under renovation as part of LAX’s Terminal 2 and 3 Modernization Project with Delta Air Lines. The three units are the last of 13 total new spaces in the Terminal 3 redevelopment program.

These three units not only are available for quick-service dining but URW is offering the opportunity to use the space as a ghost kitchen. URW, along with LAWA and Breeze, successfully launched of one of the first airport ghost kitchens in December 2019.

LAX’s Terminal 2 and 3 Modernization Project is a $1.86 billion project.

The units can be used as a multi-unit counter service operation or as a multi-unit Ghost Kitchen that also includes counter service. Units would connect into the existing LAXOrderNow mobile order platform which may also include delivery to gate service. Operators are encouraged to be creative in maximizing product offering for all hours in order to best serve the public.

The Terminal 3 leasing opportunity is open to all businesses. Interested small, local business and certified Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (ACDBE) operators are encouraged to compete for the leasing opportunities. Recently, URW evolved its Competitive Evaluation Process (CEP) to enhance inclusivity and lower the barriers of entry for small, local, and ACDBE businesses to participate. In addition, to better serve today’s socially conscious consumers, URW is challenging bidders to deliver innovative proposals that highlight their commitment to sustainability and positive social impact.

All bidders will have the opportunity to submit questions for clarification. Written requests are due by Thursday, Nov. 4 at 12 p.m. PDT.

LAX’s Terminal 2 and 3 Modernization Project is a $1.86 billion project that will modernize and upgrade the terminals and connect them to the Tom Bradley International Terminal. When completed, the reconstructed Terminal 3, home to Delta Air Lines, will ease congestion and enhance connectivity both pre- and post-security between Terminals 2 and 3. The two renovated terminals will feature 14 dining and retail destinations occupying nearly 15,000 square feet, nearly 3,000 more square feet when compared to before construction began. Terminal 3 is projected to re-open fully in mid-2023, 18 months ahead of the project’s original schedule.

The deadline for proposals is Thursday, Dec. 16 at 12 p.m. PST. Learn more at www.urwairports.com/leasing.
