The project forms part of the wider UPGRADE plan, which is set to see over 300 million EUR worth of investments made into Lisbon Airport, resulting in the creation of a new departure area – Pier Sul – and the expansion of Terminal 1 with the addition of 33,000 square metres of space, 10 new boarding gates and a total redesign of the terminal’s central core.

With work on Terminal 2 at LIS now complete, the site now aims to offer more space, natural light, comfort, seating and passenger services, as well as improve the passenger experience with the addition of new technological features. Improvements also include the implementation of Biometrics by VINCI Airports at all gates.

Thierry Ligonnière, Portugal, Brazil & Cabo Verde Director at VINCI Airports said:

The completion of this phase of the Terminal 2 modernisation demonstrates the dedication of our ANA and VINCI Airports teams, who have been able to plan and execute complex interventions in an airport operating at full capacity.

This investment strengthens Lisbon Airport’s ability to welcome passengers with greater comfort and efficiency, improving the travel experience for both Portuguese passengers and those who visit us.
