Netcompany has acquired the remaining stake in Smarter Airports from Copenhagen Airports, giving it full ownership of the technology firm behind the AIRHART platform.
Smarter Airports was established in 2020 as a joint venture between the two companies to develop a digital platform for airport operations. The platform, known as AIRHART, integrates data from multiple systems and applies artificial intelligence to support operational decision-making. It aims to improve coordination, efficiency and safety across airport activities.

The system was first implemented at Copenhagen Airport, where it has been used to manage workflows and resource allocation. It has since been adopted by other European airports, including Munich Airport and Heathrow Airport, which are using it as a central system for operational management.
André Rogaczewski, chief executive of Netcompany, said:Copenhagen Airports has been pivotal to the success of Smarter Airports and the development of AIRHART, and I am glad that our strong partnership continues in a new constellation. The agreements with Munich and Heathrow have accelerated global demand for AIRHART, and full Netcompany ownership will ensure a dedicated focus on the commercial scaling of Smarter Airports into yet another engine of growth for Netcompany’s international expansion.
Following the transaction, Netcompany will assume responsibility for the further commercial development of Smarter Airports and the expansion of AIRHART into additional markets. Copenhagen Airports will continue to collaborate on the platform’s development while focusing more closely on its core airport operations.
Christian Poulsen, CEO, Copenhagen Airports said:We are proud of what we have accomplished together with Netcompany. Smarter Airports is now ready for commercial scaling, and that requires a dedicated focus which we confidently hand over to Netcompany. At the same time, we continue our collaboration on AIRHART and gain more room to focus on our core business.
