Icelandair is offering BAGTAG’s electronic bag tag system for its passengers, with the solution set to be rolled out later this month.
This follows its recent move to become the first airline to implement the BAGTAG Crew Solution.
Alongside enhancing the travel experience for its crew, the BAGTAG Passenger Solution will now also transform the check-in process for Icelandair passengers.
Indeed, by eliminating the need for paper tags, electronic bag tags can help provide a seamless and efficient baggage check-in process from the comfort of a passenger’s home or hotel.
Jasper Quak, Managing Director of BAGTAG said:This collaboration marks a significant stride in providing passengers with a seamless and efficient check-in process, aligning perfectly with Icelandair’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. It also makes Icelandair the first airline to rollout electronic bag tags for both crew and passengers, innovating their entire baggage process. We can’t way to see everything in place.
This move also contributes to Icelandair’s broader sustainability goals, as the reduced use of paper tags helps promote a more eco-conscious travel industry.
What’s more, the electronic bag tags will display all relevant and updated travel information to ensure a smooth journey from check-in to destination.
Helga Huld Bjarnadóttir, Director of Products and Services at Icelandair said:At Icelandair, we are committed to setting new standards in the airline industry through leveraging the latest technology. Our decision to implement the BAGTAG Passenger Solution stands as a testament to our dedication to enhancing the passenger experience while also making a positive contribution to environmental sustainability.
The BAGTAG solution has also been implemented by other airlines such as Alaska Airlines and Qatar Airways.
