The SMart AiRport Technologies (SMART) Association has been established to promote technology best practice for airport owners, airlines and their service providers. Membership is free for airport owners and government staff, supporting the association’s non-profit mission.

Mission

The SMART Association aims to support the improvement of airports through research, development, education and training in innovative technology applications. A core part of this mission is helping airport owners and governments avoid costly setbacks caused by unsustainable technology implementations.

Approach

SMART works with leading universities such as Embry Riddle, UCF and Florida Tech. It complements the efforts of established airport associations including ACI, AAAE, ACC and FTE. Activities include educational webinars, symposiums, working groups, use-cases, guidelines, training and certification, all with a focus on airport technology best practice.
